Reducers

Reducers are mechanical device that outputs power obtained from the output shaft of a power source such as a motor by reducing the rotational speed using gears.

The ratio of the number of gear teeth on the input and output sides is the reduction ratio, and the torque at the output shaft is inversely proportional to the reduction ratio.

Our line-up includes three gear types - helical gears, hypoid gears and worm gears - which can be selected according to the motor specification, shaft arrangement (parallel or right-angle shaft) and output shaft shape (solid or hollow) to suit the purpose.

Types and features of gears

The following five kinds of gears are used in our reducer. The features of each gear are shown in the table below.

※Self-Locking: This is a function of the worm gear that the input shaft side cannnot be turned from the output shaft side.
Generally, reduction ratio is 1/60 as a single-step reduction.

Small-Size Gear Motor

Small size gear motor series with a motor capacity range from 40W to 5.5Kw.

Line-up includes a series with three different types of gears: parallel shaft type gear motors (helical gears), right-angle shaft type hypoid motors (hypoid gears) and croise motors (worm gears).

+α series, including IoT compatible, with overload protection device, rotation signal detection, etc., and industry compatible series, such as food industry and other industries are also available, allowing you to select the optimum small size gearmotor for your application and layout.

Hypoid Motor (hypoid gear)

Hypoid motor is a reducer with a motor that uses a hypoid gear and pursues compactness with right-angle shaft.
Hypoid gear is a type of bevel gear, and has characteristic that multiple teeth engage each other at the same time by setting the shafts of two gears on input side and output side to the twisted position (offset) instead of parallel.
This reduces sliding compared to worm, enabling high-efficiency operation.
IoT specifications that contribute to predictive maintenance are also available.

Croise Motor

This reducer is a right-angle worm gear reducer with a motor that offers a small footprint, lightweight design, and quiet operation.
