Configuration
Pin gear drive unit consists of a pin gear and engaging pin rack (or pin wheel).
Features
Easy installation, rough mounting allowed
- ・All pins used in the pin rack and pin wheel are hollow pins, allowing you to easily install the unit using the holes.
Segmented unit configuration accommodates large size machines
- ・By jointing the racks, the pitch distance can be maintained and the unit can be connected, enabling long distance linear drives.
- ・Pin wheels for large machines are assembled in segments, so large diameter pin wheels are available by combining the segments.
Downsizing is possible compared to chain systems
Construction
The pin gear has specially-shaped teeth to continuously and smoothly engage rollers.
The tooth portion is hardened for additional strength and wear strength.
Tooth profile exclusively for pin gear
The pin gear tooth profile is based on an approximate involute curve, which enables smooth engagement with the pin rack/wheel, while also using a Tsubaki original tooth profile for further strength.

Line-up of high rust prevention specifications with improved corrosion resistance by special surface treatment.
Each part has been optimally treated for rust protection, which provides strong anti-rust performance in severe environments such as outdoors, around water, or in coastal areas.

Flexible Type
Pin Gear Drive Unit Flexible Type with wider center-to-center distance tolerance than before and wider gap between pin rack/pin wheel and pin gear has been lined up.
It is effective not only for devices with strict mounting accuracy but also when the installation position changes during operation due to thermal expansion, etc.
・Application examples :Kiln dryer, earth-moving machine.
・Allowable tangential load is lower than standard series. Refer to the leaflet for selection.

Special backlash specifications (These specifications differ from standard allowable tangential loads. )

Lubrication
Before operation, apply extreme pressure grease to the outer peripheries of all rollers. Inner surfaces of the pin wheel/pin rack rollers are pre-lubricated.
Contact us when using in an atmosphere where lubricating grease cannot be used, such as underwater use, or in a high-temperature atmosphere at 130℃ or higher.
Installation method
Pin wheel & pin rack flat type
Using hollow pins, the holes can be used to fix the side face to another device with bolts.
On installation, you can decide the position by setting up a stopper or guide on the convex face.
Pin rack angle type
The angle-style straight line rack can be fixed to another device by using the tightening bolt holes for fastening.
